This content was provided by Dr. Dutton "Franziska Dutton was born and raised in Berkeley, CA. After graduating from the University of the Pacific Dental School in 2001, she practiced in Oakland for three years before moving to Redding in 2004. Dr. Dutton chose dentistry as a career because many aspects of dental disease are preventable and certainly treatable. As the oldest of 10 children, she has a lot of patience (especially for those individuals fearful of dental treatment). Dr. Dutton is trained and certified in Oral Conscious Sedation and is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation and Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry.Dr. Dutton spends a lot of time and investment in continued education, focusing primarily on preventative dentistry, conservative restorative treatments, and TMJ-based occlusion and function. In her free time, Dr. Dutton enjoys the great outdoors, including hiking, mountain biking, water sports, and rock climbing. She loves playing piano and listening to all types of music. She is married and has two boys."
This content was provided by Dr. Dutton "Preventive dentistry is our goal for every patient. This involves daily dental hygiene, proper nutrition, periodic cleanings and check-ups. It may not be where we start with every new patient, but that is what we want to attain and maintain, especially with all the evidence linking dental health to overall health!
We take a holistic approach to your dental care and routinely work with outside like-minded clinicians (ie Osteopaths, Functional Medicine Practitioners etc) to help you achieve and maintain your systemic health alongside your dental health.
Bacterial infections in the mouth are a common source of systemic inflammation which contribute to diseases such as heart attack, strokes, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimers, pregnancy complications among others. We offer simple in-office testing to see if you have certain pathogenic bacteria, along with screening for certain inflammatory markers that put you at higher risk for these chronic systemic diseases."
