Dr. Sclater's Care Philosophy

I strive to keep my care philosophy simple; listen to every patient. More often than not, a patient has had their concern for a while. Because of this, they are able to relay their needs, as long as I listen. Once I have learned about my patient's concern, I can use this opportunity to teach. Teaching is a wonderful way of giving back and empowering a patient. Teaching is very important because it gives a patient a sense of control, and this is particularly helpful when creating a treatment plan and helping alleviate the fear that many people have about the dentist. If a patient understands why a treatment is necessary, they are more likely to comeback for the procedure, which will enhance their overall health and wellbeing. The greatest compliment for me is when a new patient comes to our practice, has a positive experience, and then decides to bring the entire family. That is the best feeling in the world!
