Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

We are a general dental practice that has been in this neighborhood since 1987. We provide a wide range of dental services including CEREC dental restorations (all ceramic), tooth whitening, emergencies and yes, we can probably improve your smile.
More recently our dental focus has shifted to the field of dental implantology and if you are not familiar with what dental implants can do for you, you should find out-especially if you suffer from a poorly functioning lower denture. We have recently invested in state-of-the-art Cone Beam CT Scan equipment which helps in the diagnosis and treatment planning for implants and bone grafting procedures.
Dr. Carstensen is a graduate of the Masters Clinician in Dental Implantology conducted by the Gide Institute in association with Loma Linda University. Implant placement and restoration have become more predictable in recent years and can produce wonderful results with proper planning and application.
Thanks for your consideration in our office.
Right now I think the acquisition of the new Cone Beam CT 3D scan and the images it produces and planning software that accompany it for implants, oral surgery and endodontics gives our office an edge.
It never ceases to amaze me that if you were a patient seeking dental care and went and saw 10 dentists you would most likely get 10 different treatment recommendations with widely varying fees involved. It is not so different when you go to get your oil changed sometimes for $49 and they recommend $500 worth of work. The consumer needs to be aware. I like to list recommendations into essential treatment, optional treatment, and procedures kind of like on a wish list-like I'd like to have these teeth straight or these whitened or this "black" filling made white. We aim to be reasonable and honest and give you some bang for your buck.
All doctors have their own flavor or personality. Becoming confident and comfortable with a doctor can be a challenge when dental work is involved and a person can only invest so much. My flavor is a little holistic, practical, do unto others as you would have done to you and perhaps not so much on the serious side.
30 years experience helps too.
