The education he received provided a solid background for his professional career. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Bozart participated and graduated from an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency. This residency provided the opportunity to explore more complex and diverse patient cases. Dr. Bozart learned numerous skills and treatments under the direct supervision of over 20 board certified specialist. He states, "While UNC provided a solid academic foundation, the AEGD residency gave the clinical skill and confidence through treating difficult cases in all areas of dentistry". After graduation, Dr. Bozart fulfilled a military obligation. He attended UNC Dental School on a full military scholarship. He agreed to become a US Army Dentist after graduation in return for the military paying for his education. He states, "this turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life". While on active duty, Captain Bozart treated numerous soldiers at Fort Gordon and Fort Benning, Ga. After leaving active duty, Dr. Bozart entered private practice as an associate in Wilmington, NC. He chose to move to Wilmington, NC because he has extensive family in the area and his children love the beach. The private practice experience was very rewarding for Dr. Bozart. He learned the complexities of dealing with the business side of dentistry. He states. "this is the aspect of dentistry I dislike the most. I wish the business side of dentistry did not exist, like in the Army, but it is a necessary evil and I did learn valuable information during this time." As you can see, Dr. Bozart has a very diverse and enriched professional and educational experiences. Dr. Bozart has two girls, Alison and Sydney. They both are fun loving, caring, and sweet girls. On weekends the girls can be found playing TopSoccer, Special Olympics bowling or just hanging at the beach. They both have a rare condition called Mucolipidosis Type IV (ML4) and need constant help. Dr. Bozart finds tremendous strength in Alison and Sydney. He states. "all of the education in the world does not provide the gift that both girls have provided. They have provided me with a purpose that no job title ever could", Dr. Bozart feels spiritually blessed to have been given the two girls and advocates for them and others like them."
This content was provided by Dr. Bozart "Our philosophy is to provide comprehensive dentistry to all patients. This means explaining all available options to every individual and having the patient make an educated decision with regards to their treatment. Dr. Bozart understands that what the textbook recommends may not always be appropriate for every patient. He states:"The textbook does not take into account the patients situation. The textbook fails to recognize financial or time constraints, personal desires, fear, etc."Dr. Bozart tries to develop an understanding of the patients desires, situation, and personality to help establish an individually appropriate treatment plan. He believes every patient should have a well established relationship with their healthcare provider. This lends itself to better understanding, trust, and personalized treatment."
