I was a patient of Dr. Swenson for several years receiving cleanings. Gina, the dental hygienist is great. When I needed dental work due to a cracked tooth, Dr. Swenson put a crown on it. When the procedure was finished he said "Hope you don't need a root-canal". Turns out, I did need a root canal. Dr. Swenson does not perform oral surgery, instead his office sent me to an endodontist, who performed the root-canal. This oral surgeon billed me for his service. When the bill arrived it revealed that the endodontist was not within my insurance network. In all, this one tooth cost me over $3000 WITH insurance coverage. Here are the issues I have; 1) Why didn’t Dr. Swenson know I needed a root-canal? I have been going to dentist for over 50 years. Never have I had one crown a tooth before knowing a root canal was not needed. 2) Dr. Swenson’s office has been billing my insurance for years. Why did they send me to an out-of-network endodontist? I do not recommend Dr, Aaron Swenson.
