Biography: Dr. Hourani received his medical training at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He then completed his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of the Icahn School of Medicine and at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was the chief resident of his program. Dr. Hourani performs coronary angiography and intervention via both radial (through the wrist) and femoral (through the leg) access points. He uses advanced interventional techniques, including orbital and rotational coronary atherectomy, and treats chronic total occlusions. He maintains board certifications in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Medicine and Internal Medicine. He also holds board certifications in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Ultrasonography. This combination of diagnostic and interventional expertise allows Dr. Hourani to advise patients on personalized, effective strategies to maximize their cardiac health and longevity. He supports the effort of every patient to maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle, no matter what his or her state of cardiovascular health may be. Dr. Hourani has presented research at scientific meetings including the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, the Heart Failure Society of America, and the American College of Physicians. His scientific work has focused on the use of intracoronary pressure measurements during cardiac catheterization and on medical treatments for heart failure across ethnicities.

Dr. Shaun Dane Villiers Smithson, MD FACC, is a practicing Interventional Cardiologist of Miami-Dade Cardiology Consultants (MICC) since 2016. He is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology.He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vassar College with a minor in Chemistry. He then attended Howard University College of Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class in 2009. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the prestigious Houston Methodist Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. He continued at Houston Methodist Hospital to complete his Cardiovascular Disease training at the world-renowned Houston Methodist Debakey Heart and Vascular Center. There he also served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. He continued his fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology & Structural heart Disease and received many accolades, including Cardiology Fellow of the year.Dr. Smithson was the first to perform highly advanced structural heart interventional procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) and MitraClip for the MICC group. He continues to specialize in advanced complex procedures and has a large private practice that focuses on preventative cardiology and cardiovascular disease management. Dr. Smithson also serves as an associate professor in the Department of Medicine at Nova Southeastern University of Allopathic Medicine and is the Associate Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship training program at Aventura Hospital.In his free time, Dr. Smithson enjoys improving his Spanish, traveling, running, and playing tennis. He also volunteers with medical students at the University of Miami as part of their barbershop hypertension screening program.He is a member of many academic societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, the Cardiac Research Foundation, the Caribbean Cardiac Society, and the Association of Black Cardiologists. Biography: Dr. Curry is a native of Washington, D.C. He received his BA in Biology from Hampton University in 1991 and is a 1995 Howard University College of Medicine graduate. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University and completed a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Medstar-Washington Hospital Center in 2002.After completion of his fellowship, Dr. Curry joined Triangle Heart Associates in Durham, North Carolina, where he practiced non-interventional Cardiology for 6 years before relocating to join Midamerica Cardiovascular Consultants in Chicago. Prior to joining MICC, he served as the program director of the fellowship program in Cardiovascular Disease and the director of the echocardiography laboratory at Howard University. He now supports the physician residency program at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.Dr. Curry is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology. He is an active member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, Association of Black Cardiologists, American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.Dr. Curry's interests include cardiovascular imaging as well as disparities in healthcare. Outside of work, he enjoys photography, theatre, live music, and cooking.
