Nature of Complaint
The nurse has been found guilty of two Driving Under the Influence Offenses. The nurse violated her criminal probation. However she did successfully complete six months of treatment for alcohol abuse.
On or about August 2009 when the nurse renewed her APN Certificate and RN License she failed to answer “Yes” to the question inquiring about conviction of crime. In December 2010 the nurse failed to notify the Board that she was convicted of her second DUI or that she had violated her probation in connection with that offense.
For the purpose of avoiding further administrative action, the nurse entered into a Consent Order with the Tennessee Board of Nursing in which the nurse agrees to the following and is not limited to the following.
- The nurse agrees to have her Tennessee APN license and her Tennessee RN license Suspended and the multistate privilege to practice in any other state Voided.
- The nurse agrees to undergo an evaluation with the Tennessee Professional Assistance Program (TnPAP). Should the program recommend a contract, the nurse’s licenses will be placed on Probation, with terms and conditions.
- Should the evaluation NOT recommend a contract, the nurse’s license will be placed on Probation with terms and conditions.
- The nurse’s multistate privilege shall remain Void until such time as her APN and her RN license are no long on suspension or probation.

Per terms of the Board Order, the nurse’s license is placed on Probation to run concurrent with her TnPAP contract.
