Nature of Complaint:
The physician pled guilty to Counts 1 through 11 and was convicted of eleven felony charges in the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts, Boston Division of seven counts of Introduction of Misbranded Drugs Into Interstate Commerce and four counts of Tax Evasion. The physician was sentenced to imprisonment for a period of one year and one day for Counts 1-11 to run concurrently. The physician shall surrender at the institution designated by the United States Burearu of Prisons on 01-06-2010. The physician upon release from imprisonment shall be on supervised release for a period of thirty-six months subject to various conditions including payment of restitution in the amount of $203,291.00 to the Internal Revenue Service.
The Director of the Virginia Department of Health Professions has Suspended the physician's license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Virginia.
