Nature of Complaint
The physician has been disciplined in another state.The physician admitted that he conspired with others to distribute schedule II, III and IV controlled substances by writing prescriptions to persons without a legitimate medical purpose and outside the usual course of medical practice. The physician also admitted that he wrote prescriptions that resulted in the illegal distribution of approximately 45.6 grams of schedule II controlled substance, over 40,000 units of schedule III controlled substances, and over 40,000 units of schedule IV controlled substances between year 2003 and June 2007. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky – Northern Division accepted the physician’s plea of guilty and he was found guilty of one count of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, a felony, on or about October 26, 2009.
The State Medical Board of Ohio has ordered the physician’s license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Ohio Indefinitely Suspended. Conditions for reinstatement have been established. Upon reinstatement of the physician’s license to practice medicine and surgery in Ohio, the physician shall be subject to various Probationary terms, conditions and limitations including and not limited to submitting a Practice Plan for the Board’s approval to practice. In the event the physician violates any term or condition of the Order, the Board may institute whatever disciplinary action it deems appropriate.

Based on the physician having been convicted of one felony count of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance and no hearing requested, the State Medical Board of Ohio has Permanently Revoked the physician’s medical license.
