    • Summary: Dr. Kimberly Ming Chan; License # MD00046109 - NATURE OF COMPLAINT: The respondent missed a hernia in a patient’s abdomen while performing surgery to remove the hernia, and failed to respond to department inquiries. ACTION TAKEN: The Commission and respondent stipulate to the following terms: The Commission places the respondent’s license on probation for a period of 2 years. The respondent must complete a minimum of 10 hours of Category I CME in the area of laparascopic surgical repairs of ventral hernias. The respondent agrees to conduct a literature search and review of authoritative material on laparascopic surgical repairs of ventral hernias. The respondent agrees to make a presentation based upon her research and approved paper to a peer group at a hospital where she has privileges. The respondent agrees that a representative of the Commission will make quarterly visits to her practice for the purpose of reviewing her medical records to ensure that the standard of care is maintained in her laparascopic surgeries. The respondent agrees to reimburse costs to the Commission in the amount of $1,000 within 3 months of this Stipulation. The respondent shall obey all laws and all rules governing the practice of the profession in Washington.
