What Is a Residency?
Residency is a medical training program that a doctor completes to gain expertise in a specialty. Residency training takes place in accredited hospitals or other healthcare facilities under the supervision of experienced doctors. Residency training lasts from three to seven years, and the exact duration varies from specialty to specialty. Residency is required for specialty board certification.

Nature of Complaint:
The physician has been the subject of disciplinary action in another state.
The physician on 06-17-2005 entered into an Agreed Order with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure based upon allegations against the physician by four of the physician's former employees which consisted of inappropriate sexual comments and touching by the physician. The physician denied the allegations made against him by his former employees.
The physician also failed to disclose the disciplinary action taken by the Kentucky Board on the physician's 01-29-2007 license renewal application.
Action Taken:
The State Medical Board of Ohio effective 07-12-2009 has Suspended the physician's license to practice medicine and surgery in the State of Ohio for a period of thirty days from 07-13-2009 through 08-11-2009. The physician's license upon reinstatement shall be subject to the following Probationary terms, conditions and limitations for a period of at least one year:
- The physician shall obey all laws and all rules governing the practice of medicine and surgery in the State of Ohio.
- The physician shall submit quarterly declarations of compliance to the board.
- The physician shall appear before the board every six months or as requested by the board.
- The physician shall successfully complete a course(s) in personal ethics.
- The physician shall comply with reporting requirements.
August 11, 2010 – Probation Completed
The State Medical Board has granted the physician’s request for release from the terms of the 06/09/2009 Board Order. Release from probation is effective 08/12/2010 .
