Pediatric medical toxicology is the study of toxic effects of chemicals on infants, children and adolescents. A medical toxicologist studies symptoms, treatments and detection of poisoning. Drug addiction, chemical poisoning, and abuse of medication all require the expertise of a toxicologist.
