Forensic psychiatry uses the legal aspect of psychiatry to aid in court cases. Expert psychiatric testimony influences legal verdicts and judgments. A forensic psychiatrist evaluates individuals involved in court cases, plays an important part in custody suits, and provides treatment to incarcerated patients.
