Beth Israel Medical Center, one of New York City’s premier hospitals, serves as the Manhattan Campus for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Beth Israel serves the diverse populations of New York, with three major divisions located throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn:

• Petrie Campus – First Avenue at 16th Street, Manhattan
• Phillips Ambulatory Care Center – 10 Union Square East, Manhattan
• Kings Highway Division – 3201 Kings Highway, Brooklyn

Beth Israel is a 1,368-bed, full-service tertiary teaching hospital founded on Manhattan's Lower East Side before the turn of the 20th century. Beth Israel originally was dedicated to serving a vulnerable population in that community. Now a century later, the Medical Center serves individuals and families from every walk of life throughout New York City and beyond.

New Technology and New Centers

Our growth in the last two years has been unprecedented and we continue to grow. The renovations of our Emergency Department and many inpatient units are all focused on providing patients with a better patient experience.

Some recent highlights include:

• The opening of The Friedman Diabetes Institute, which focuses on the lifestyle of the diabetic patient to ensure lasting medical success
• The increase in the number of accessible interpreters and special navigator programs to ease cultural barriers for our Jewish, Chinese, Latino, and Russian patients.
• The opening of The Chris and Morton P. Hyman Patient Care Unit, which features amenities similar to five-star hotels
• The opening of a Sleep Health Center, which offers diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of patients with all types of sleep disorders.
