Opened in late 2003, the Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital (formerly known as the Fresno Heart Hospital) is a beautiful facility providing world class care right here at home. The care giving team presents with a depth of expertise and commitment to patients. The state of art facility offers advanced technology. This special hospital provides an array of surgical services including: cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery and general surgery. In addition the facility operates a Cardiac Cath Lab and Cardiac Evaluation Center along with full service outpatient Imaging and clinical Laboratory departments. The facility is a full service acute care hospital with 57 beds including a 9 bed Intensive Care Unit.

The Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital initially opened providing solely, cardiovascular procedures and surgery. The hospital expanded to make additional surgical services available in early 2006. Consistent with the hospital’s mission to provide exceptional care, a course was embarked upon to expand to surgery performed using the emerging gold standard, minimally invasive techniques; thereby expanding available services at the hospital including bariatric surgery and general surgery procedures.

The Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital is licensed by the State of California, Department of Health Services and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The hospital is currently in the process of pursuing voluntary accreditation from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and expects to complete the JCAHO inspection in late-2007. The hospital is currently accredited through a voluntary accreditation process from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital was named "Cleanest Hospital in California" according to HCAPS and has just received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award from HealthGrades for 2009.
