We have grown into a regional medical center and hospital, with over 600 physicians 586 employees, and 40volunteers. We are very excited about the future of our facility. We’re investing $10 million in support of Lakewood Regional Medical Center’s mission to provide quality health care. This includes adding two new cath labs which will be finished in early 2009, upgrading two radiology rooms and we installed an advanced 64 Slice CT scanner. Lakewood Regional Medical Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s oldest and largest hospital accreditation agency. The hospital was designated a UnitedHealth Premium® Specialty Center for Cardiovascular Surgery and Interventional Cardiology. Lakewood Regional Medical Center supports many organizations such as the Lakewood YMCA, Pathways Volunteer Hospice, Lakewood Pharmacy Foundation, Su Casa Domestic Abuse, Meals on Wheels, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association – Mended Hearts and Project Sheppard. Lakewood Regional Medical Center currently has contracts with many insurance and managed care plans. Most major insurance plans are accepted at our facility.
