With over 22 years experience in health care administration, Irwin is accomplished at analyzing situations, developing effective solutions, and creating strategies that improve profits and productivity. Currently Irwin serves as Chief Operating Officer for Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) where his duty is to ensure that the hospital provides optimal patient care while operating efficiently.

Irwin Hurn greatly enjoys working with the people that make health care a personal experience. He excels at engaging audiences of employees as well as executives, his forte is presenting complex information in a way that every body can quickly and easily understand its purpose.

Prior to joining HPMC Irwin assisted several companies with restructuring of financial systems, financial reporting, financial projections and modeling, and information technology implementations. The companies varied from hospital systems, biotechnology firms, home care providers, retailers, museum and research institutions, and manufacturers. From this experience it is clear that Irwin excels at addressing financial and operational areas of improvement within any type of organization. Most importantly, he enacts change where it is needed to best benefit the organization and its constituents.

Galen Gorman serves as Chief Financial Officer at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) where he is responsible for creating and meeting financial goals, overseeing the hospital’s budget, raising capital, and ensuring the hospital’s ability to provide services with a solid financial foundation.

Galen has had a distinguished 30-year career in the financial industry. His areas of expertise include financial leadership, hospital turnarounds, mentoring, strategic planning, and merger and integration strategies. Galen’s accomplished skills help him assess HPMC’s financial status at any given time and seek out opportunities to provide quality patient care while ensuring fiscal responsibility to the community it serves.

Prior to joining HPMC, Galen helped consolidate services and improve financial performance at Centinela Freeman Health System in Southern California. Throughout his career Galen has managed financial services at for-profit as well as not-for-profit hospitals and health care systems ranging from 200-bed facilities to 890-plus-bed organizations. One of his more recent accomplishments was identifying and capturing $6.4 million in additional net revenues while at St. Mary Medical Center and Community Hospital of Long Beach in California.

Jeff A. Nelson is an accomplished executive who has served in leadership roles at health care organizations for over 26 years. He currently acts as Chief Executive Officer at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) where he is responsible for overseeing the financial and operational management of the 434-bed acute care facility. Jeff is passionate about the business of healthcare. Better yet, he is dedicated to making sure HPMC delivers quality, innovative care in a compassionate manner.

Throughout his career, Jeff has worked as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Chief Financial Officer for acute care hospitals, health plans, health care technology companies, and consulting firms. Most recently he served as Chief Executive Officer for Empire Health Services, a not-for-profit, multi-disciplinary health care system in Spokane, Washington. In three years, Jeff led a $40-plus million net gain turn around, reduced employee turnover, and helped Empire Health Services gain national recognition for quality.
