Patient / Medical Philosophy
The desire to study and practice medicine was given to me by my parents. My father was a Viennese physician, my mother a nurse, who trained in Warsaw, Poland. They immigrated to the United States in 1938. My father had a great love for people and medicine. My mother was a very compassionate nurse. My parents were my early mentors.
Since graduating Medical School in 1967 and completing residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology, I have enjoyed the private practice of medicine. I have always been involved in the teaching and training of medical students, residents and fellows in addition to performing clinical research.
My focus has been on GI endoscopy, Cancer detection, IBD, and IBS. Our practice has been in the same neighborhood since 1945. Our emphasis has been to provide GI services in a comfortable, pleasant, and safe environment. We have been providing Office based Endoscopy since 1975. Video Endoscopy was introduced into our practice in 1987, and High Definition with Narrow band imaging in October 2006. We have offered Wireless Capsule Endoscopy since November 2002 and Abdominal Sonography for more than 20-years. All endoscopic procedures are performed with the assistance of an anesthesiologist.
My staff and I pride ourselves on being knowledgeable, accommodating, empathic, and always available to our patients. We enjoy and take great pride in caring for our very diverse patient population.
