Care Philosophy
I am a specialist in the care of older adults (a board-certified geriatrician). I also have expertise as a board-certified sleep specialist with an emphasis on managing sleep changes and disorders common in middle-aged and later life. I am fully committed to honoring my patients and their family’s preferences for care. My philosophy is to optimize a persons ability to accomplish the daily tasks and activities that are important to them, help them to be comfortable and empower them to be an active participant in their health care. I am convinced that care provided by health care team is far better than care delivered by a single provider. Providing quality medical care for adults and senior adults means close attention to general medical care, chronic disease management, conditions specific to aging (e.g. osteoporosis, memory changes, mobility problems, falls) age-appropriate preventive care, and when necessary palliative/ comfort care as a person approaches end-of-life.*
