Patient / Medical Philosophy

“As cardiovascular, thoracic and vascular surgeon, I specialize in surgery of the heart, lungs and the major blood vessels of the body. I am proud to offer Southeast Texas the newest and most specialized cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical care. I offer state-of-the-art surgical treatment options, comprehensive care, and 24 hour availability. My goal is to provide you with the finest in medical care and to restore you as quickly as possible to good health.“ Dr. Stephen Maniscalco graduated with honors from Texas Tech University with a degree in chemical engineering and began working in the field before becoming interested in medicine. He soon became a licensed medical technician and worked on an ambulance crew on nights and weekends. Maniscalco ultimately went back to college with the goal of becoming a surgeon and graduated second in his class at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Maniscalco trained in general surgery at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, then at Baylor College of Medicine, where he trained to become a heart and thoracic surgeon. He eventually became a member of the faculty. He also trained at M. D. Anderson in thoracic oncology. In 2002, after 11 years of training, Conroe Regional Medical Center recruited Maniscalco to work with its heart surgery program. One of Maniscalco’s passions is in bringing first-rate heart, thoracic and vascular surgery to local residents.
