Patient / Medical Philosophy: I am a breast surgical oncologist and the Program Director for the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship.

I am currently involved in research evaluating the use of ductal lavage to detect breast cancer cells. This procedure uses a catheter inserted into the nipple to collect cells from the milk ducts of the breast -- the place where nearly all breast cancer starts.

In patients with advanced breast cancer, I am also interested in the use of sentinel lymph node biopsy following chemotherapy to accurately detect the spread of cancer to the surrounding lymph nodes.
