Dr. Doerfler has been a member of the Central DuPage Hospital, Cleft Palate Team since 1995. Dr. Doerfler is commissioned as a Lt. Colonel in the Illinois Army Reserve National Guard and served active duty in the U.S. Army as an Oral and Maxillofacial Specialist of the 325th combat support hospital in Iraq in 2008. He is currently active reserve status. Dr. Doerfler has been a volunteer member on many medical missions to South America helping to change lives through facial reconstructions, tumor excisions and cleft plate repairs under a variety of conditions.
