Geoffrey R. Dixon, M.D., is a neurosurgeon with over 7 years of experience. A member of the Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch Medical Group (CINN) since 2009, Dr. Dixon provides solutions for patients afflicted with brain and spine conditions.
Dr. Dixon treats patients with primary and metastatic brain tumors, including meningiomas, gliomas and acoustic neuromas. He offers patients with debilitating back and neck pain the full suite of
surgical solutions, including discectomy, laminectomy and spinal fusion procedures.
Dr. Dixon’s training also includes today’s evolving spine technologies including the X-Stop for lumbar spinal stenosis and the cervical artificial disc. Dr. Dixon expands CINN’s treatment armamentarium for
the devastating symptoms of seizure disorders and depression through the implantation of vagal nerve stimulators.
Dr. Dixon received his medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where he contributed to the establishment of a head injury database
for use in multicenter trauma studies. Upon completion of his doctoral studies, Dr. Dixon interned
in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he later conducted his
Neurosurgical residency training.
Through his office in Harvey, Illinois, and his continued affiliation with St. Mary’s Hospital in Hobart, and Methodist Hospital in Gary, Dr. Dixon is maintaining his longstanding commitment to the
patients and communities of Northwest Indiana.
Licensed in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota, Dr. Dixon’s care of patients and knowledge of viable treatments extends to much of the Midwest. Dr. Dixon is an active member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
