Dr. Ronel graduated with honors from both Princeton University and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. His plastic surgery training was at the New York Presbyterian Hospital program, which includes New York Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Hospital for Special Surgery. In addition to being board-certified in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Ronel is also a board-certified pediatrician. He is the only physician in the United States with these two certifications. His pediatric training was at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (University of Pennsylvania) and Boston Children’s Hospital (Harvard University). He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Surgeons, and a Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He served four years in the Air Force, where he was the Chief Medical Officer at Columbus Air Force Base. Dr. Ronel’s pediatric experience brings a special compassion to his care of plastic surgery patients, both young and old.*

Pediatrics is the treatment of disorders and diseases in infants, children and adolescents. A pediatrician is primarily concerned with the influence of disease and dysfunction on a child’s development, from preventive care to treatment of diseases. This specialist has background knowledge regarding congenital defects, immunology, oncology, infectious diseases, immunizations, and disorders that are unique to children.
