
Nature of Complaint:
The Physician is suffering from drug abuse and is pending a criminal action relating from an incident where he pulled a gun on three people outside an Austin motel in June 2005.
The Physician wrote prescriptions in June 2006 for nine people using a prescription pad from a former employer. The Physician also received citations from the Austin police department for possession of drug paraphernalia that contained traces of cocaine. The physician also failed to meet the standard of care for several patients at St. David's Hospital by not attending to the patients on a daily basis and completing history and physical examination reports in a timely manner.
The Physician is now believed to be homeless and possibly suffering from mental health issues.
Action Taken:
The Board has Temporarily Suspended the Physician's license to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
April 11, 2008-Agreed Order
The board has Indefinitely Suspended the physician's license to practice medicine in the State of Texas until the physician can demonstrate to the board that he is physically, mentally and competent to return to the practice of medicine.
