Nature of Complaint:

The Physician has been the subject of disciplinary action in another state.

The Physician has been disciplined by the State of Rhode Island for failing to conform to the minimal standards of acceptable care.

Action Taken:

The Board has Suspended the Physician's license for no less than 12 months and issued a Fine of $1000.00.

Nature of Complaint:

The Physician has been the subject of disciplinary action in another state.

The Physician has been disciplined by the State of Rhode Island.

Action Taken:

The Board has Suspended the Physician's license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania.

Nature of Complaint:

The Physician ordered hydrocodone/acetaminophen and failed to maintain adequate records on these controlled substances.

Action Taken:

The Physician has chosen to Voluntarily Surrender his license to practice medicine in the State of Rhode Island.

March 12, 2008-License Reinstatement With Restrictions

The board has Reinstated the physician's license to practice medicine in the State of Rhode Island subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. The physician shall enter into a five year monitoring agreement with the Physician's Health Committee of the Rhode Island Medical Society.
2. The physician waives all confidentiality pertaining to the physician's medical, psychiatric, drug and alcohol treatment records.
3. The physician shall not order or prescribe any drugs with an opioid or synthetic opioid.
4. The physician is permitted to prescribe other pain relief medications for his patients and order necessary medications for the physician's practice of Rheumatology.
5. The physician must refer patients requiring opioid treatment to another physician.
