Nature of Complaint:

The Physician provided false data on a grant application in order to obtain funding.

The application contained photomicrographs of glomeruli from a model of induced diabetes in rats when the photomicrographs were from normal rats. There were also six photomicrographs that the Physician claimed were from the strepozotocin diabetic animal model when they were actually from animals in which he could not induce true diabetes through streptozotocin.

Action Taken:

The Board has issued the Physician a Reprimand and shall provide a copy of this Order to all facilities where he has privileges.

Nature of Complaint:

The physician has been the subject of disciplinary action in another state.

The physician has been disciplined by the State of Ohio.

Action Taken:

The board has placed the physician's license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois in refuse to renew status.
