David Mayman, MD, completed his undergraduate studies in human kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. His medical degree, residency in orthopedic surgery, and postgraduate training in orthopedic trauma were obtained at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. During this time, he won the coveted William Ersil award for Best Paper in Orthopedics three times for research primarily concerned with computer-assisted surgery. This continues to be one of his top research interests. Dr. Mayman next completed the arthroplasty fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery. He went on to do a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine through Harvard University at Massachusetts General Hospital. While there, he participated in the care of a number of professional and college sports teams. He is interested in patient-centered care of arthritic and pre-arthritic conditions of the hip and knee, maintaining or restoring desired activity levels in patients of all ages, and the clinical application of computer-navigation technologies.
